Child Safety Festival

This weekend our neighborhood had a child safety festival. You could get your child fingerprinted and get them an ID. They also had all the emergency vehicles there including a helicopter, police vehicles, an ambulance, and a fire truck. The festival also had a ton of other fun things for the kids to do. Peyton got to bounce in a moonwalk, pet some animals in a petting zoo, and he got a puppy balloon from a clown (whom he wasn't very sure about). We had a lot of fun especially because Daddy and Kelsey went with us. It was a fun family outing.

When we first got there the helicopter was about to take off so we got to watch it fly away. Peyton thought that was the best part.

He loved this bunny and was very sweet to it.
I can't believe it was just sit there with him.

Dinoland

I took Peyton to a Dinoland Exhibit with some of our playgroup friends. Peyton loved it. There were all kinds of dinosaurs along a trail at Zilker Park. It was really hot but the kids did not seem to mind. Lets just say we got our exercise for the day. The dinosaurs were very life like and I am really glad we got to see it while it was here.Outside the gift store while we were waiting for our group Peyton found a golf cart. He was in heaven. He did not want to sit here for this picture. He was ready to go!

Kiddie Acres

I took Peyton to Kiddie Acres with a friend of mine and her little girl Avery. It is a little amusement park for younger children. They have rides, a train, and ponies. The kids loved it. Peyton especially liked that he could ride the rides without me. When we got on the train he tried to get me to get out. He wanted to do it all by himself. He is really into being independent. We will see how long that last once the baby gets here.

Little Gym

Peyton and I go to Little Gym every Monday evening. We started going this summer and Peyton loves it. The gym is perfect for him and he can run around and use up all the extra energy he has. We do a lot of fun things like sing, run, jump, and hang on bars. Last night one of my friends took some pictures of the kids. Here are a few. Enjoy! At the very beginning we start with shaking bells. The kids love doing this and really love putting the bells up. We then do an introduction and Peyton is not interested in sticking around for this and has already left the circle to go play on the balance beam. We also do a group activity every week. This week was the blow up track. It is Peyton's favorite. He loves to try to bounce on it. He hasn't mastered jumping yet so this is good practice. They also love to ride it down when it deflates.Peyton is trying to walk across the bars. The real workout is for me trying to hold him up. He is getting so heavy.

1st Day of School

So, Peyton had his first day of school today. I think he was nervous because last night he got up 3 times and wasn't sleeping very good. But, he slept in this morning and was ready to go when he got up. I dropped him off at 9 a.m. and he went right into his room and started playing. I gave him a quick hug bye and snuck out. Me and a friend went to breakfast together and then to Costco to pass some time. It was so weird not having the kiddos with us and so quiet here at the house. I missed him so much!! When I picked him up at 1 he was still having fun and laughing so overall it was a success. He was very excited to see me and quickly asked for Woody once we were in the car. He isn't supposed to bring toys from home so we had to put Woody and Bullseye (Woody's horse) in Peyton's backpack while he was in school. Peyton wasn't too excited about this but forgot about them once he walked in class. I was so glad to have him back in my arms after those 4 hours. I am sure I will enjoy the time more once we have done it more than once but it sure was hard the first day. Here are some pictures from his first day.

I think we are going to have to make this an annual picture.

He loves this kitchen. We might have to get him one. Here Peyton is in his classroom right before I picked him up. There are 5 boys in his class and 3 girls. So the boys will have some competition.
